Word for the Workweek

Blessed is the nation whose God is Lord. - Psalms 33:12

When will God bless America again? According to the scriptures, a nation is blessed when God is their Lord. Does that mean that we are doomed then? It is a certainty that our nation as a whole is not honoring God. Is there any hope for us?

I am reminded when Elijah was whining that he was the only righteous prophet in Isreal. God told Elijah that hope was not lost. There were still 7,000 men who had not bowed their knee to Baal.

This Sunday, July 5, I will begin a new sermon series on the book of Nehemiah. Nehemiah led a nation to hope and dream again. With simple obedience to God, Nehemiah brought a new spirit of revival to a group of people who had given up.

God has used great revivals in the past to bring nations to their knees and he can do it again. Every time God used revival to turn a nation and a generation to him, it always began with one person or church who got thoroughly right with God. Perhaps we could be that people in this generation. A God-seeking revival is what would make America great again!

See you Sunday!
